House of representatives has described allegations of $15 million doled out to lawmakers to approve president Muhammadu Buhari’s n22.7 trillion ways and means loan request as false, baseless and unfounded.

In a statement signed by the spokesman of the house, Benjamin Kalu, the lawmakers said it was necessary to make the clarification for the benefit of all Nigerians, emphasizing that its decisions and actions are always premised on public good,

Kalu implored the media to exercise restraint and desist from disseminating unfounded allegations that have the potential to tarnish the reputation of public institutions and individuals.

Earlier, the outgoing speaker of the house, Femi Gbajabiamila had debunked the news at a support meeting for a speakership aspirant, Tajudeen Abbas, stating that such antics were expected due to the different interests represented in the race to the speakership of the house.
