Lagos state police command says reports of fire outbreak in Alaba international market is fake and misleading.

In a statement by the state police public relation officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, police officers from ojo division raided shanties around the market, arrested suspected criminals and recovered some weapons.

Hundeyin said the shanties were thereafter set on fire to disallow the illegal occupants from regrouping and carrying out their dastardly acts.

Recall it was earlier reported that shops at the popular Alaba international market, Ojo, were on fire with men of the fire service from Ojo, Sari-iganmu and Ajegunle obstructed by angry mobs from performing their statutory duty.
