Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu at the ongoing 28th session of the Conference of Parties (COP28) in Dubai, presented Phase Two of the Lagos State Climate Adaptation and Resilience Plan to the global partners.

 

Sharing photos via his X handle, Sanwo-Olu explained that two waste conversion initiatives that was presented at the global climate summit have garnered significant interest from investors, stating that the projects are the advanced Garbage Collection and Waste-to-Energy project, as well as the construction of a new Sewage Treatment Plant.

 

According to him, the progress represents a significant step forward in the journey towards environmental sustainability and resilience, restating his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of Lagosians.

 

He also noted that collaboration and actively engaging with potential partners to ensure their involvement in bringing plans to fruition is a strategy that has yielded results on different fronts and will be employed expressly to ensure maximum efficiency.
