Newly promoted Nigerian Premier Football League side, Ikorodu City, has refuted claims that it wants to forfeit its participation in the upcoming 2024/2025 NPFL season.

The club’s football director, Tobi Adepoju, in a social media post, debunked news making the round on social media that Ikorodu City was considering selling its spot, stating that such reports were untrue.

According to him Board and Management of the newly promoted club has never considered selling the slot, promising that works are ongoing to fortify the team, to be able to compete at the highest level.

The Oga Boys join Nasarawa United, Beyond Limits, and FA Cup winners El Kanemi Warriors as promoted teams, replacing Sporting Lagos, Heartland FC, Doma United, and Gombe United.
