Residents of Ibadan, Oyo’s capital have demanded the resignation of President Bola Tinubu due to the economic hardship prompted by his removal of fuel subsidy and floating of the naira.

In hundreds, going to thousands, youths and adults alike took to the Mokola area of the city today to give government a hint of what they are going through at their domestic end and why they can no longer bear it.

With placards and heavily laced chants, they expressed their disbelief at the seeming incompetence of the Bola Tinubu led Federal Government to address the rising cost of living, food and other essential necessities.

Those who spoke with Veonewsng at the venue of the protest asked the President and his henchmen to step down or face what they promised would be a continuous protest. “Enough is enough! Our lives are being made impossible while the government sits by idly,” raged a youth leader.

A trader who had closed her stall in solidarity declared, “We cannot take this kind of suffering any longer. Tinubu has failed us.

“The problem affects everyone. We cannot afford three square meals.”

Aside the intensity of the protest, other highlights of the street rush was the heavy presence of security men and the gridlock that many motorists had to face while the protesters went about their vent.
