Ido-Ekiti was agog on Saturday as Governor Biodun Oyebanji of Ekiti State joined other dignitaries to celebrate the birthday of founder of Grace and Mercy Prayer Mountain Worldwide and Adamimogo Communications Limited, Prophet Sam Olu-Alo.

The cleric marked the occasion in grand style with the launch of a maternity home and a new radio station, Adamimogo 107.7FM, in his hometown.

Represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Olusesan Alabi, Governor Oyebanji applauded Olu-Alo for his philanthropic gestures, especially to his community in Ido, and for helping to create employment for numerous youths across the country.

The day’s events had commenced with the commissioning of the Christ Apostolic Church Oke-Isegun’s Maternity Faith Home, donated by Prophet Alo to address healthcare challenges in Ido-Ekiti. Regional Superintendent of CAC Essien Region, Pastor Isaac Eyebiokin, performed the commissioning ceremony.

Dressed in his signature white attire, Prophet Olu-Alo expressed gratitude to God for divine favor despite obstacles he has faced in life.

The event then moved to the premises of Adamimogo 107.7FM, where guests gathered for the unveiling of the new radio station, the third in Adamimogo’s franchise after Adamimogo 93.1FM in Lekki, Lagos, and Adamimogo 105.1FM in Ibadan, Oyo State.

At the unveiling, Prophet Olu-Alo revealed plans for establishing a global television station in Ido-Ekiti, Ibadan, and Lagos to provide employment and put his hometown on the map.

He also outlined a massive plan to traditional rulers present, led by the Olojudo of Ido-Ekiti and Chairman of the Ekiti State Council of Traditional Rulers, Oba Ayorinde Ilori-Faboro, to build a world-class piggery, grass cutter farm, and palm tree farms.

“I request 100 hectares of land each for these three projects from you the Kings in my hometown similar to what we have for the SOAF Medical Centre in Irete-Ijebu,” Olu-Alo said, adding that the farms would provide employment to at least 200 youths, and their produce would be a major source of export to other countries.

Speaking on his venture into commercial operations, Olu-Alo said he felt a strong sense of commitment to inspire younger generations to become better versions of themselves and support the government in meeting its responsibilities to the public.

Drawing from his own story of leaving Ido with only a cloth and a pair of slippers, Olu-Alo said he had experienced the worst circumstances of life but, through dedication and perseverance in God’s work, has become widely celebrated.

“Youths who have become lazy and easily depressed by the state of affairs of the nation should not be discouraged by whatever circumstances,” he advised.

Oba Ilori-Faboro, Dayo Apata Lead Tributes to Olu-Alo

Oba Ilori-Faboro, in his address, admitted that in Olu-Alo, he had found a passionate being who matched his vision for the growth of Ido-Ekiti. He revealed that he had jokingly asked Olu-Alo to set up his next radio station in his hometown in October, 2023 affirming that charity begins at home, and was expressly excited to launch the station eight months after the pronouncement.

“When the COO, Babatunde Bamigboye Omo Edema reached out to me for a land to build the new radio station. I asked if they were ready to build or just wanted the land for keeps in the long-term but to my surprise they said they were ready to build the radio station and I’m happy that having toiled in the rain with them that day to find the best location for the citing of the radio station, they wasted no time in setting to work,” Oba Ilori-Faboro recounted.

The Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Ekiti, Dayo Apata, SAN who attended the event, described Prophet Olu-Alo as a friend and brother whom God has used tremendously to impact lives positively. He thanked God for the cleric’s life and sought divine strength for him to continue to excel.

Earlier, Regional Superintendent CAC Essien Region and Benin Republic, Pastor Isaac Eyebiokin, and Planter CAC, the Boaneges, Prophet Ade Ologbonyo, paid tribute to Prophet Olu-Alo for giving hope to Nigerians at a time of economic troubles.

The Chairman of the Ido Town Development Council, Hon. Sola Ogunsina, said despite little government intervention, Ido-Ekiti had taken its pride of place among other communities in Ekiti as a self-developed town.

He said the community had developed a strong belief that individuals could follow Olu-Alo’s path to execute legacy projects, hailing the cleric for leading by example.

Earlier, the Chairman of Adamimogo FM, Nigeria, Elder Afolabi Imoukhoude, extolled the cleric for his holistic approach to impacting people’s lives.

He said Prophet Olu-Alo not only addressed people’s problems via messages but had taken time to address their physical, psychological, and social well-being through various establishments under the Adamimogo Global outreach, comprising palliatives to widows and the elderly, a global sports team known as Adamimogo FC which discovers and nurtures soccer talents, as well as the media arm and world-standard health facility.

The highlight of the event, punctuated by melodious songs from various artists, was the cutting of the birthday cake.
