A former governorship aspirant and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Edo State, Ken Imansuangbon popularly has resigned his membership of the party.

In a statement submitted to his Esan South East ward 2 chairman, Tony Aziegbemi, Imansuangbon thanked the leadership of the party, describing his experience as memorable, while refusing to state reasons for leaving the party.

There are reports that Imansuangbon is interested in the 2024 governorship race in the state but his chances remain slim in the PDP as Governor Godwin Obaseki is believed not to be favorably disposed to his ambition following their unsteady relationship from 2020.

Recall obaseki dumped the all progressive congress and was opposed by Imansuangbon and some other members of the pdp after he picked up his governorship ticket to secure his second tenure.
