The federal government has reiterated its determination to complete the 347-kilometre-Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road this year.

The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and the Minister of Works, David Umahi made the commitment today, at the commencement of the tour of the Abuja-Kaduna section of the road.

Edun emphasised that the timely completion of the road remains a top priority for President Bola Tinubu, who views road infrastructure as a key element in revitalizing and stabilizing the nation’s economy.

On his part, Umahi said 45 kilometres of the 165-kilometre Abuja-Kaduna section of the road has been completed but there is a need to ascertain other facts regarding the project.

Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Julius Berger Plc, Lars Richter, the contractor handling the project, expressed confidence that the Minister’s inspection would provide the government with valuable insights into the project’s progress.
