Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Tuesday launched the “Eko Cares” social intervention program aimed at supporting approximately 500,000 vulnerable households across the state.

The program inaugurated at Lagos House in Ikeja, focuses on the direct distribution of foodstuffs and providing access to quality healthcare and counseling services through facilities established in all senatorial districts.

Governor Sanwo-Olu emphasized that “Eko Cares,” managed by the Special Dispensation Advisory Committee on Social Interventions, seeks to eliminate food insecurity among Lagos residents.

While praising President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to alleviate hardship through national grain distribution, Sanwo-Olu asked Nigerians including civil servants to show faith in Government.

The distribution of food items will be coordinated through various community networks including religious organizations, trade unions, and groups representing youth and people with disabilities.

Sanwo-Olu urged stakeholders not to hoard it but to make it available for the residents.
