A Federal High Court in Abuja has refused to stop the impeachment move against the Edo State Deputy Governor, Phillip Shaibu, by the State House of Assembly.
Shaibu filed an ex-parte motion seeking an order to restrict the State House of Assembly, the Speaker and the Clerk from commencing any process to impeach him.
However, Justice James Omotosho, in his initial ruling on March 13, refused to grant the application.
When the matter was presented again on Wednesday by Shaibu, through his lawyer, Prof Olawoyin Awoyale, (SAN), Justice Omotosho again declined the request.
