The fire outbreak in at the intersection of Nnamdi Azikiwe and Docemo in Idumota, Lagos caused significant damage to four buildings with one collapsing due to the high intensity of the flames.

The director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Margaret Adeseye, disclosed this in a statement on X.

She said the agency was alerted about the inferno at 7:41 a.m. and emergency services were swiftly mobilised to the scene where the fire had engulfed three buildings, including two- and three-storey structures.

According to the agency, the cause of the blaze was yet to be ascertained, but an investigation is ongoing.

In a related development in Kano,

The Kano State Fire Service has confirmed the destruction of no less than 37 shops at Zawaciki area in Kumbotso Local Government of Kano State.

Spokesman of the Service, Saminu Abdullahi disclosed that the fire started at about 1:37am but its cause is being investigated.

According to him, no life was lost and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
