President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt sympathies to all the traders affected by the Thursday night inferno which affected sections of Karu Market in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The president in a statement by his media spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale, assured of his administration’s full support, while advocating caution and adherence to essential safety measures to prevent fire outbreaks and other accidents.
Counting their loses, some of the traders said the cause of the fire was linked to a power surge, destroying goods worth millions of Naira.
The Acting Director General of FCT Emergency Management Department (FEMD), Florence Wenegieme, had decried clumsy state of the market, noting that it constrained fire fighters from gaining access to the affected shops.
