The minister of power, Adebayo Adelabu, says president bola has solved the major setback affecting Nigeria’s power sector, which is the legacy debts owed to gas and generation companies.

Adelabu disclosed this at a sectoral briefing, stating that he has secured president Tinubu’s approval to pay the debts owed to gas and generation companies.

According to him, his ministry is following up on the presidential approval, which will go a long way towards stabilizing the power sector.

The development comes as Nigeria owes gas and generation companies a legacy debt of over n3 trillion, which the government blamed for the country’s epileptic power supply nationwide.
