The Southwest Governors Forum led by Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has pledged the commitment of the forum to accord a befitting burial to late Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, who died on Wednesday.
Speaking with newsmen on behalf of the other Governors in Ibadan after commiserating with wife and family of the deceased governor, the Dapo Abiodun disclosed that a joint committee of the southwestern states will be set-up to work with the family and collaborate with the government of Ondo State to ensure a deserving funeral for Akeredoulu.
Governor Abiodun, who had earlier described the late Akeredolu as a courageous individual whose vacuum will be difficult to fill, further said Akeredolu, during hi time as Chairman, South-West Governors Forum, exemplified courage and leadership, worthy of emulation.
The Governors, Ademola Adeleke of Osun, Dapo Abiodun Ogun, and Abiodun Oyebanji Ekiti, were led by the deputy governor of Oyo State, Adebayo Lawal, to the Jericho residence of the deceased governor.
