Legendary movie star, Richard Mofe Damijo has advocated implementation of policies capable of translating talents and ideas into revenue for the government, creating employment opportunities and exporting the rich culture and heritage of Nigeria and Africa to the world.
Damijo speaking at the closing ceremony of Nigerian stock market for the year, applauded the Nigerian entertainment industry for raising the creativity bar to an enviable level, despite economic challenges and paucity of funds which makes it difficult in employing proper tools and top-class personnel.
According to him, the industry is fast becoming a global attraction with the successful production of award-winning movies, exportation of music talents, art and culture among others, imploring the federal government to ensure implementation of structures and systems that will adequately administer the industry for efficiency.
Damijo stated that the entertainment industry as a major contributor to foreign exchange and internally generated revenue has experienced a revitalization through the year which has in turn affected the stock market positively.
