Jude Bellingham has avoided punishment over his alleged slur directed towards Manchester United’s on-loan forward Mason Greenwood last month.

The Spanish FA (RFEF) has dismissed the case against Bellingham after it was alleged that he had called Greenwood a ‘rapist’ during Real Madrid’s win over Getafe on February 1.

Television cameras during the game caught Bellingham saying a two-syllable word in Greenwood’s direction after he was tackled by the 22-year-old, however, microphones by the side of the pitch did not pick up exactly what was said.

Getafe reported the incident to the match officials, who included it in their report to La Liga and a case was opened by the RFEF, with an expert lip-reader brought in to help with the investigation.

However, the RFEF has concluded that there is no credible evidence of the word Bellingham used during the incident, therefore the Real Madrid midfielder will not face any punishment.
