Reinstated Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, alongside the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) legacy coalition members in his company, have defected to the All-Progressive Congress (APC).
Shaibu announced his defection during the inauguration of the State’s National Working Committee for the governorship election, with National Chairman of the APC, Abdullahi Ganduje, Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa and Cross River Bassey Out, present.
The development followed an accusation by Shaibu, that his principal, Godwin Obaseki, denied him entry into the state, referring to the attack at the Benin airport.
The 54-year-old stated this during an interview after Federal High Court in Abuja ordered his reinstatement as deputy governor.
