President Tinubu has directed non-inclusion of officials with no direct participation in the United Nations general assembly from traveling with the Nigerian delegation.

In a statement today, special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, said the move is in line with a broader effort to reduce the cost of governance in Nigeria.

Tinuu also directed the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs to freeze the processing of visas for all government officials seeking to travel to New York for the United Nations General Assembly without proof of direct participation in UNGA’s official schedule of activities.

Recall U.S President Joe Biden had invited President Tinubu to a special session on the sidelines of the upcoming United Nations General Assembly in New York, scheduled for September 18 to 26
