President Bola Tinubu has approved a major slash of travel delegations for all federal government official trips within and outside the country.

In a statement by the special adviser on media and publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, the directive means a 60% slash across the board and affects all MDAs, including the office of the president, vice president and first lady.

Additionally, when any international travel is being approved, all ministers of the federation, their staff, appointees and the like will be allowed to travel with four members on any official trip.

Ngelale noted that the office of the first lady is now limited to 10 staff members on official trips within the country, while the vice president will be limited to 15 members of staff on official trips within the country.

The development came four weeks after the Tinubu administration came under harsh criticism for conveying a massive entourage to the cop28 climate change summit in Dubai, the United Arab emirates.
