Plateau state Governor, Caleb Mutfwang has appealed for assistance from the federal government, stating that the reoccurring cases of communal clash in the state is beyond his capacity.

Speaking during a televised interview, Mutfwang claimed that the sophistication of the terrorist attack is disturbing, calling on security agencies to wake up to their responsibility by sniffing out the assailants, to ensure lasting peace in the affected area.

According to the governor, the terrorists are bent on pushing people out of their lands and taking over, insisting that it must not be business as usual as culprits must be arrested and prosecuted to serve as deterrent.

He also promised to consult the president, to secure his commitment in putting an end to illegal land grabbing which he described as the purported basis for the attacks.

A grieving Mutfwang described the Christmas eve simultaneous attacks by assailants on over 15 communities in the Bokkos and Barkin-ladi local government areas of the state, as unprovoked, appealing for peace and understanding.
