At least one person has reportedly been killed in Sagamu in what is suspected to be fresh cult clashes.

The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Omolola Odutola, when contacted said a murder case was reported to have happened in the town.

Narrating the incident as told by the Sagamu Divisional Police Officer, Odutola said a group of unidentified gunmen on motorcycles shot and killed a young man whose identity is currently unknown at the Latawa area of Sagamu.

She said body of the deceased has been transported to a nearby morgue, with two large cowries found on him.

Odutola confirmed that the State Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, is aware of the incident and “has personally arrived in Sagamu to oversee an open investigation into this tragic killing.”
