The Ifedore Youth for Good Governance has called on leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ifedore Local Government to uphold the tradition of power rotation by appointing a representative from Ilara Mokin Ward 1 as Local Government Secretary.

The group highlighted that the position, yet to be filled, traditionally belongs to the Ilara Zone in Ifedore Central LCDA.

The statement noted that “following the recent local government elections, political appointments have been distributed as follows: the Local Government Chairman is from Ijare Zone, and the Vice Chairman is from Igbara-Oke Zone.

They stressed that fairness demands the Local Government Secretary’s position should be allocated to Ilara Zone, comprising Ilara Mokin Wards 1 and 2, and Ipogun/Ibule Ward.

The group expressed concern that while Ipogun/Ibule and Ilara Mokin Ward 2 have received several key appointments, Ilara Mokin Ward 1 has been overlooked, receiving only one special adviser and one LCDA supervisor.

“This is a matter of fairness and equity. All wards must be fairly represented,” the group stated, urging leaders to address the imbalance and uphold the principles of inclusive governance.

They called on stakeholders to act swiftly to rectify the situation and ensure equitable representation for all.
