Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, has suspended the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Omoun Perez, with immediate effect and asked the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary to embark on compulsory leave.

Also forced on compulsory leave is the Assistant Director, Agricultural Engineering, Oki Yintareke; and Chief Accountant, Gabriel Idiatacheko.

A statement by the Press Unit, Government House noted that the Governor also set up a seven-man committee headed by the Secretary to the State Government, Kingsley Emu to probe perceived infractions related to the management of the Greenhouse project by the Ministry.

The Statement, however, clarified that the suspensions and forced leave did not reflect a presumption of guilt but rather to ensure transparency in the investigative processes.
