Members of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Wednesday stormed the headquarters of the Labour Party (LP) in the Utako area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, demanding the resignation of Julius Abure as the national chairman of the party.

Led by Chairman of the Political Commission of the Congress, Theophilus Ndubuaku, the members said Abure was not properly elected as the national chairman of the Labour Party and alleged that the planned convention of the party under his leadership is an illegal one.

Although no official of the party is at the headquarters, the labour leaders occupied the premises of the party as security operatives especially the Nigeria Police Force were seen occupying the entrance of the party’s Headquarters.
