The President of the Nigeria Football Federation, Ibrahim Gusau, says he is unaware embattled Super Eagles coach, Finidi George, has tendered his resignation.

This comes amid reports online that the coach resigned after the NFF announced Thursday that it would hire an “expatriate technical adviser” for the Eagles, following their dismal performances in the 2026 World Cup qualifying series.

According to reports, Finidi accused the NFF for failing to mention that players reported late to the camp and nothing was done to mobilise Nigerians in Ivory Coast to support the Eagles in the match with Benin Republic.

Meanwhile, Super Eagles and Napoli forward Victor Osimhen has fired back at former Super Eagles manager, Finidi George, and individuals doubting his commitment to the Super Eagles.

Osimhen was ruled out of the Super Eagles games against South Africa and Benin Republic due to injury, but the forward in a live Instagram video faulted comments attributed to Finidi, stating that he was intentionally absent from national duties.
