A Federal High Court in Abuja, has granted the bail of former Governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano after he pleaded not guilty to a nine-count money laundering charge.
Obiano, was arraigned before trial Justice Inyang Ekwo by the The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for fraud amounting to four billion naira from March 2014 to March 2022.
According to prosecuting Counsel, Sylvanus tahir, the terms of the administrative bail granted him comprise the seizure of his international passport and a ban on traveling outside the country.
Justice Ekwo also directed the EFCC to forward details of those who stood as his surety to the court before adjourning the case till March 4 for the commencement of his trial.
