The federal government has hinted at the establishment of a security outfit, to adequately tackle vandalism and theft in the power sector, as a means of reducing damages done to transmission lines and other equipment.

 

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo said this at the Passing out Parade and inauguration of the second batch of the Commandant General’s Mining Marshals, noted that the success of the initiative has called for extension to the power sector, in the wake of vandalism in the industry.

 

Tunji-Ojo promised to consult his colleague, the minister of power, Adebayo Adelabu on how to work out a partnership in terms of security, to address vandalism that is crippling the power sector.

 

The minister who had earlier visited Kuje correctional centre, assured that the Bola Tinubu administration will improve the lives of inmates and correctional officials, to ensure they enjoy the dividend of democracy.
