The Minister of Defence, Muhammed Badaru and Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, have condemned the killing of military operatives in Delta State, describing it as disgraceful and unaccapetable.

 

The Ministers, in a statement said every effort would be made to bring the perpetrators to justice, while affirming the unwavering commitment to safeguarding the security and well-being of all Nigerians, noting that any threat to the nation’s sovereignty and stability, will be resisted.

 

Meanwhile, human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, has condemned the heinous killing of 16 military personnel, faulting the alleged burning of the village by the military, while submitting that the matter should have been handed over to the police.

 

Operatives of 181 Amphibious Battalion were killed by irate youths in Okuama Community Ughelli, Delta State during a rescue mission on Thursday, an occurrence that has sparked various action from different segments of the country.
