Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori has visited Okuama community in Ughelli, following unrest that trailed the killings of military officers and civilians last week.

 

Oborevwori who was welcomed by the leader of the military JTF, General Officer Commanding 6 Division Nigeria Army, Major General Jamaal Abdulsalam, carried out an on the spot assessment, to determine the level of damage done in the community.

 

The military Joint Task Force, however, barred journalists from covering the governor’s tour of the troubled community.

 

Earlier, the lawmaker representing Bomadi Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly, Kenneth Oboro Preyor, described the gruesome killing of soldiers on a peace and rescue mission as a national calamity, calling for the arrest of the perpetrators without delay.
