Real Madrid says midfielder Jude Bellingham will be out of action for a few weeks after sustaining a calf injury during Friday’s training session.

A statement from the club’s website says following tests carried out today on Jude Bellingham by the medical team, the player has been diagnosed with an injury to the plantaris muscle in his right leg.

Bellingham will miss La Liga matches against Real Valladolid, Las Palmas, and Real Betis, as well as England’s Nations League games against the Republic of Ireland and Finland in September.

Bellingham joined Real Madrid in 2023, making him one of the most expensive British players, proving his worth last season as he helped the Los Blancos secured both the Champions League and La Liga titles.
