The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA has announced plans to open a new operational base in the Ibeju-Lekki area, aimed at improving traffic conditions.

This was revealed when LASTMA General Manager Olalekan Bakare-Oki met with Ibeju-Lekki Local Government Chairman, Sesan Olowa.

According to Bakare-Oki, the new LASTMA base will address traffic challenges around the rapidly developing Lekki-Ajah corridor.

The LASTMA head said additional personnel have already been deployed to the region to enforce rules on commercial drivers and other motorists along access routes.

Olowa pledged full Council support through provision of logistics assistance to enable the immediate startup of the Ibeju-Lekki LASTMA base operations.
