The Lagos State Government and the Federal Government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the transfer of Epe General Hospital to the Federal Government.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu signed on behalf of Lagos State, while Dr. Tunji Alausa, Minister of State for Health, signed for the Federal Government at a ceremony held at Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island.

According to Governor Sanwo-olu, the move will allow the hospital to transform  into the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Epe, providing advanced services including neonatal and adult intensive care, open-heart surgery, high-risk obstetrics, dialysis, and trauma care.

Additionally, FMC Epe will host the Federal College of Complementary and Alternative Medicine (FEDCAM), offering courses like acupuncture, naturopathy, and herbal medicine, with a clinical posting at the FMC. A new School of Nursing will also be established at the site.
