Lagos seals popular Idera Market in Oshodi - Vanguard News

The Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC), also known as KAI, has sealed off Idera Market in Oshodi for unhygienic practices and indiscriminate dumping of refuse.

Corps Marshal, Major Olaniyi Cole (retd) decried how the market’s leadership failed to provide a valid waste collection contract, leading to refuse accumulation capable of causing illnesses and disease outbreak to market vendors and buyers alike.

He warned other markets across Lagos to maintain hygiene standards or face similar consequences.

He also reiterated the ban on Styrofoam packs and street trading, including the display of wares on road setbacks, lay-bys, medians, and kerbs.
