The House of Assembly has intended at a review of laws regulating transportation to address the problem of alleged multiple taxations by various unions in the sector.
Speaker of the house, Obasa gave the hint following a motion, over a recent protest against alleged extortion by the transport unions in Lagos, stating that the alleged extortion is becoming a menace, submitting that the lawmakers must wade in to avoid break down of law and order.
According to him, reports show that almost every bust stop as unlawful vehicle fee collection officer causing traffic snare, putting untold pressure and weight on the commuters.
Obasa called for the engagement of candidates recently interviewed for recruitment into the Neighbourhood Safety Corps to expand the security network in the state, leading the resolve to invite the transport unions in the state for discussion.
