The Lagos State government has reiterated its commitment to ensuring a cleaner Lagos and zero tolerance to building on drainage right of way, irrespective of persons involved.

 

Commissioner of environment and water resource, Tokunbo Wahab said this in a social media post, noting that the government will remove any structure obstructing the free flow of rain water and causing flooding in all parts of the State.

 

According to him, operatives of the State Environmental Sanitation Corps and other enforcement units today commenced the removal of contravening structures built on the drainage channel in Okezie Ugbaja street and other parts of Okota, Oshodi – Isolo LGA.

 

Wahab assured that persons whose properties contravene state laws will be subjected to penalties as prescribed by the law.
