Organized labor has sent a message to the presidency to make a stern statement and take visible action in addressing the anomaly in respect to the harassment and brutalization of NLC President Joe Ajaero in Imo state or face massive labour action.

The President of Trade union congress, Festus Osifo during the protest to ground flights from Abuja and Lagos to Imo state, argued that now was not the time for the federal government to be quiet, stating that the maltreatment of Joe Ajaero is a clear message of disregard for the union.

According to Osifo, grounding flights to Imo state was the first step to more severe action against the government of the state, expressing utmost shock at the conduct of the Governor, who he said had a disdain for the work force.

Although, Governor Hope Uzodinma had denied links to the brutalization of Ajaero, the union had constantly claimed that workers in the state were under siege and weight of maltreatment by the Governor.

Recall the union had agreed to ground flights to Imo state, withdraw all vital services in the state, to protest what it described as a barbaric act against the leadership of the union.
