The nominees for December 2023’s Barclays Manager of the Month award have been revealed, with Unai Emery, Andoni Iraola, Jurgen Klopp and David Moyes set to battle it out for the monthly honours,

In the month under review, Aston Villa’s manager, Unai Emery lost only one of seven matches, earning back-to-back wins against Manchester City and Arsenal – keeping clean sheets in both victories – to go second in the table.

Bournemouth under Andoni Iraola scored two or more goals in five of their six matches, securing a late turnaround win at Nottingham Forest, and a thumping Manchester united 3-0 their first ever victory at Old Trafford

 

Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool ended the year at the top of the table following an unbeaten month in which they claimed four wins and two draws.

David Moyes of West Ham is the last on the list, leading his team to four wins from their six matches, including a memorable 2-1 derby success at Tottenham Hotspur, plus impressive back-to-back victories over Man Utd and Arsenal, finishing the year sixth in the table.

 

On the players side, eight players were shortlisted for the December 2023 EA SPORTS Player of the Month award, including Trent Alexander-Arnold of Liverpool who had three goal involvements, three clean sheets, and creating the joint-most chances of any player in December.

 

Matheus Cunha was directly involved in six goals in seven appearances as Wolverhampton Wanderers won four of their seven matches, scoring or assisted in all but two of his outings across the month.

West Ham’s flying winger, Mohammed Kudus scored four times in December, helping to inspire victories over Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal, Man Utd and Wolves as the Hammers moved into the top six.

 

The list also includes Crysta Palace’s Michael Olise, Cole Palmer of Chelsea, Marcos Senesi, Dominic Solanke of Bournemouth and Son’s eight goal involvements, the league-high total in December earned the Tottenham Hotspur man a spot on the list.
