Israel-Hamas truce in the Gaza strip has stretched into a fifth day as the two sides completed the release of hostages, looking poised to free more as the pause in fighting was extended by two days.

Israeli Defence Forces Spokesperson, Daniel Hagari said Israel will keep implementing the truce plan set by Qatar and Egypt in order to free the remaining hostages.

Hagari issued a call to action for international organizations, particularly the red cross, to make every effort to secure access to the hostages so that they can receive the necessary medical care.

The spokesperson for Qatar’s ministry of foreign affairs, Majed Al-Ansari said focus should be on humanitarian angle on how to get the hostages released.

Israel said 11 Israelis had returned to the country from the Gaza strip, bringing to 69 the total of Israeli and foreign hostages the Palestinian group has freed since Friday under the truce.
