The Abdullahi Ganduje-led National Working Committee NWC of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC has slammed the Rivers state Governor, Siminalayi Fubara for running the state outside the 1999 Constitution,
The NWC also berated Fubara’s Peoples Democratic Party PDP which claimed the 27 House of Assembly members who defected from PDP to APC have forfeited their seats, citing Section 109 of the Constitution.
APC in a statement noted that Governor Fubara’s declaration that the Rivers State House of Assembly does not exist is not only reckless, but a direct affront on the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The party however concluded that the recent actions and utterances of the governor forms a solid ground for his outright impeachment in accordance with the provisions of the law.
