The political crisis rocking Rivers State looks close to being resolved as member of the Rivers State House of Assembly and ally of Governor Simnalayi Fubara, Edison Ehie has withdrawn his contempt proceedings suit against 25 lawmakers who defected to the All-Progressives Congress.
The lawmakers who previously belonged to the Peoples Democratic Party had left following the crisis between Fubara and his predecessor Nyesom Wike prompting Ehie to file the contempt proceedings against them.
When the matter came up in court, Ehie’s counsel informed they had filed a Notice of Discontinuance and asked the court to give effect.
The request was not challenged and was subsequently struck out by the judge.
