The federal government says it has designed plans to diversify power supply to hospitals and health centres, to ensure that shortage of power does not deny citizens quality health services.

The Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare Ali Pate said this in an interview, stating that the Bola Tinubu administration is intentional about power supply as a necessity for improved health care, with a desire to venture into sustainable private power source if necessary.

He said the President is eyeing the completion of the construction of six new cancer centres in Nigeria in the next two years, with the allocation of N37.4 billion to the Ministry of Health to enhance access to oncology care in different geo-political zones which will be equipped with modern medical infrastructure.

Pate promised that the ministry under his watch will embark on strategic projects in the sector to transform the sector.
