The federal government has hinted at plans to introduce skills acquisition and training at the elementary school level, in order to promote practical knowledge among pupils.

 

The minister of state for education, Tanko Sununu unveiled the plans during a session with newsmen, noting that the Bola Tinubu administration is more interested in equipping young Nigerians with basic skills needed to improve national economy.

 

 

The minister also said the current structure of the student loan scheme, has been revitalized to meet the specific needs of beneficiaries, driven by technology that can also accommodate postgraduate programs, which comes in form of grants.

Sununu further promised that the scheme will be sustained and coordinated efficiently to track and enforce payment of loan received by beneficiaries.
