The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board has announced the suspension of three senior officers of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) following a viral video on social media implicating the officers in various infractions related to Mr. Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

Those suspended are;

  1. Michael Anugwa, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), in charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State.
  1. Sikiru Adekunle, Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), in charge of Maximum Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kiri-kiri, Lagos State.
  1. ASC II Ogbule Samuel Obinna, serving at the Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Afikpo, Ebonyi State, for allegedly escorting a convicted inmate out of the custodial centre.

In a related development, The Board’s Secretary, Ja’afaru Ahmed also announced the suspension of Deputy Controller of Corrections (DCC), Iloafonsi Kevin Ikechukwu, in charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kuje, Abuja, for allegedly receiving money on behalf of an inmate.

Ahmed stated that the suspensions are to facilitate further investigations into the allegations.

He assured the public that the outcomes of these investigations would be made public once concluded.
