In a statement signed by the Head Of Strategic Communication In The NSA office, Zakari Mijinyawa, Ribadu expressed regrets over the incident and condemned it in its entirety, stressing  that it was against the rule of law and the Principles of freedom of association and expression subscribed to by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration.

He added that relevant authorities have been directed to conduct thorough investigation and bring to book the culprits, noting that any further outcome in the investigation will be made public.

The  NSA, therefore appealed to the Labour leadership to call off the current strike action and allow the dialogue process underway to be exhausted..

Recall that the  Labour had embarked on nationwide strike on tuesday to seek justice over an assault on Ajaero who was attacked when he was about to lead a protest against alleged anti-labour practices by the Governor Hope Uzodimma-led administration.

Earlier the President of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Festus Osifo, had expressed a lack of confidence in the probe by the Inspector General Of Police,Kayode Egbetokun into the assault of the leader , hence prompting the Union to call  on the NSA to lead the investigation.
