The Edo State governor, Godwin Obaseki has sworn in Justice Daniel Okungbowa as chief judge of the state, after he was confirmed by the state House of Assembly on Wednesday.

Obasaki lauded Nigerian lawmakers for legislations towards the judiciary while urging the new chief judge to utilize the tool of law to better the justice system in state and set a pace for equity in the natio.

On his part, the new chief judge, Justice Daniel Okungbowa promised to hit the ground running by clearing the backlog of cases in the state to ensure prompt delivery of justice.

Recall Governor Godwin Obaseki had, in a letter signed requested the prompt screening and confirmation of Okungbowa as the Chief Judge of Edo State
