The Defence Headquarters has launched an investigation into allegations of sponsorship of terrorism and banditry between Defence Minister of State, Bello Marawalle, and Zamfara Governor, Dauda Lawal.
The probe comes after the governor accused Marawalle of involvement with bandits, while Marawalle countered that the governor was working with terrorists.
According to Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Buba, relevant agencies are working to uncover the truth behind the allegations.
Meanwhile, the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, has welcomed the suit seeking to compel the Federal Government to investigate alleged link between the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle and the operation of bandits in Zamfara State.
But the case brought before the court by a Zamfara state-based human rights activist, Abubakar Dahiru, is still pending as the court is yet to fix a date for the matter to be heard.
