A Federal Capital Territory High Court in Gwagwalada has sentenced a fake senator, Tom Makwe, to two years in prison for defrauding a Spaniard of 47,082 Euros.
Makwe pleaded guilty to the charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and asked the court for leniency.
In delivering the judgment, Justice Aliyu Shafa also gave him the option of a N5 million fine.
He also ordered that N30 million and $1,300 recovered from Makwe be forfeited to the victim, Maria Del Rosario San Jose Garces, through the Spanish embassy in Nigeria.
