A Federal High Court sitting in Kano, has ordered Kano State Government to pay the sum of N10 million as compensation for breaching the fundamental human right of depose Emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero.

 

The presiding judge, Justice Simon Amobeda gave the order while delivering the judgment in the case instituted by Aminu Bayero seeking for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights.

 

Justice Amobeda described the order given by Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf for the arrest of Aminu Bayero as unlawful and that which has forced the applicant into house arrest for fear of been arrested.

 

The Judge however, restrained the police at the national or state level and DSS from arresting, detaining, threatening, intimidating, harassing the Applicant or further interfering with the Applicant’s fundamental rights.
