Justice Haleemah Salman of the Kwara State High Court has convicted the five suspects in the 2018 Offa robbery of culpable murder, armed robbery, and unlawful firearm possession.
The Judge also sentenced them to death by hanging.
The robbery executed on April 5, 2018, by about 30 men who blew up entrances into the banks, claimed the lives of Thirty-Nine persons including pregnant women and police officers
It was reported that Michael Adikwu, the leader of the robbery, died in police custody, while the remaining five Ayoade Akinnibosun, Azeez Salahudeen, Niyi Ogundiran, Ibikunle Ogunleye, and Adeola Abraham had pleaded not guilty.
