United States Secretary of State, Antony Blinken has arrived in Tel Aviv, on the final stop in his sixth urgent trip to the region since the start of the Israel-Hamas’s war.

Before leaving Cairo, Blinken said he believed talks mediated by the U, S., Qatar and Egypt could still reach a ceasefire deal between the Palestinian militant group Hamas and Israel.

He however promised to share alternatives to Israel’s planned ground assault into the southern Gaza town of Rafah, when he meets prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his war cabinet.

Meanwhile, Israel’s spy chief, David Barnea is set to travel to Qatar for ceasefire negotiations, as the U.S. plans to put a call for an immediate truce in Gaza to a vote at the U.N security council.
